Orioles’ Joe Foss To Join Erickson Retirement Communities
Erickson Retirement Communities has big expansion plans for its company’s future and has invited Baltimore Orioles’ soon-to-be former Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Joe Foss, to join Erickson in the role of Chief Administrative Officer. Foss’ primary function with Erickson will be to help increase growth and capital efforts.
Erickson’s future plans include a very aggressive growth agenda increasing the amount of retirement communities it owns and manages from 18 to more than 50 over the next 10 years. This increase in the number of communities translates to an increase in residents from 20,000 to more than 125,000 and an increase in employable staff from 10,000 to around 65,000. Erickson stated, “Our capital needs would grow by more than $3 billion. Needless to say, this is going to require some intense execution and achievement.” With a 21-year banking background and 14 years with the Orioles, Erickson is optimistic that Foss is just the man to handle the job.
